Top Selling Phablets for under 15000 INR in India

These days Phablets are selling like hot cakes everywhere in the world. Phablets are the monstrous mobile phones with huge display, so they can always double up as a tablet too. Especially in an emerging marketplace like India, big and small manufacturers are bringing their own version of 5″ Android powered tablet with some amazing specifications.

We have selected a handful of those value for money Phablets which offer a great performance and still are quite affordable for being  around 15,000 INR in India.

1. Micromax Canvas HD

This is undoubtedly the most popular Phablet in India which has set high standards in terms of specs and performance for the upcoming devices from local manufacturers. It doesn’t come as a surprise that the Micromax Canvas HD went out of stock within hours of its launch way back in February and due to low number of early stocks many of the consumers who ordered this phablet online were kept waiting up until late March !

micromax canvas hd back in stock

The craze behind the Micromax Canvas HD was due to the high end specifications for a dirt cheap price. A 5″ Display with 720P resolution (291 PPi), Quad Core Mediatek Processor, coupled with 1 GB of RAM, 4GB of Internal Memory expandable upto 32GB courtesy the Micro SD Card slot, this gadget is definitely too enticing. It also comes packed with 8 Megapixel Rear and 2 Megapixel front facing camera and Runs android 4.1 Jelly Bean out of the box. It sport a 2000mAH battery.
Now that the stock issues have been finally sorted out, consumers can get their hands on this one for a price tag of Rs.15,000 from local retailers. Saholic is offering the Micromax Canvas HD for Rs 14,700 which is the cheapest price online for this Phablet.

2. Xolo Q800

Another Quad Core Phablet in this list is the Xolo Q800. This one Sports a 4.5″ Display with qHD resolution (Approx 245 PPi) and 1GB of RAM to go with it. This device also sports 4 GB of internal memory with 32 GB expansion slot, 8 Megapixel Rear camera and 1 Megapixel front camera. It also runs Android Jelly Bean out of the box.

This one has a better battery with 2100 mAH battery to provide just the enough battery juice. The Xolo Q800 is available online for around Rs.12,500, but local retail stores are selling it at a price tag of Rs.12,000 which is a great price for the Quad Core phone.

3. Karbonn S1

Another popular Indian Smartphone manufacturer Karbonn Mobiles have also released their own version of Quad Core phones, Karbonn S1 and Karbonn S5. Specifications for Karbonn S1 are similar to Xolo Q800, with a 4.5″ display with qHD resolution (approx 245 PPi), 1GB RAM and the same 4 GB of internal memory with 32 GB expansion option.

The one thing that doesn’t work for this phone is the 5 Megapixel rear camera which is lesser than other two phones and a secondary camera for video conferencing. It runs on Android Jelly Bean 4.1 and packs a smaller 16000 mAH battery. Not much impressive in our opinion.

Karbonn S1 is priced at around Rs.10,000 in India and is readily available over retail and online stores.

4. Karbonn S5
This is another Phablet variant of Karbonn S1. It comes with a welcoming 5″ display but what disappoints here is that the display resolution is still qHD (220 PPi). The processor on the phone is still the same Quad core processor, with 1 GB RAM, 4 GB internal memory and 32 GB expansion via Micro SD slot.

Good thing about this phone is that it sports a better camera as compared to S1, 8 Megapixel Rear camera and 2 Megapixel front facing camera. It also runs on Android Jelly Bean out of the box and sports a larger battery of 2000 mAH.

So barring the display resolution, which is still acceptable at that price range, the Karbonn S5 is a great option for those who need a sub Rs.12,000 phone.

5. Umi S1

This beast comes from the chinese manufacturer Umi Mobiles, which has recently entered the Indian Smartphone market with a handful of devices in its bad. First up is the Umi S1,which resemble the HTC Butterfly in terms of features (or should we say identical design? )

The Umi S1 packs in 5″ Display with 720 P display, just like the Canvas HD but goes one step further by adding Gorilla Glass protection for the display and that definitely makes a huge difference in our opinion. Under the hood it runs Quad core processor with 1 GB of RAM and 8 GB of ROM (Micro SD expansion available) which is again better than the competition in that price bracket and runs Android Jelly Bean out of the box.

Other features in the device are one 8 Megapixel Rear shooter and a 2 Megapixel front facing camera and a huge 2500 mAH battery which is larger than others in the list.

Umi S1 is available for a price tag of Rs. 12,000,currently only available through official UmiMobiles site.

6. Umi X2

Last but undoubtedly the best in this list is the Umi X2 Phablet phone. This one stands out in the competition with its Full HD 5″ display with Gorilla Glass protection, quad core processor and a whopping 2GB of RAM. In terms of storage it has a massive 32 GB of RAM along with Micro SD expansion slot. You surely cannot expect better specs from a device in the current market !

In terms of other features like camera it still is superior t?han the others, it packs a 13 Megapixel rear shooter and a 2 Megapixel front facing camera. It also sports a 2500 mAH battery for longer talktime and standby of the phone, all in all a complete package for a great price.

The Umi X2 is also available through the Umi Mobiles site for a price tag of Rs.14,000 which makes it the best buy under 15,000 range. This would definitely be the Phablet of our choice from the current market.
