Google Chrome is an awesome browser which can sync all your browser data across multiple devices once you sign in. But in some situations, Google Chrome may suddenly stop showing favicons for your bookmarks, including the ones on your bookmarks bar. The issue is very irritating, but you can fix this very easily if you reset the favicon cache for Google cache ! Here is what you need to do:
How to Fix Missing Favicons on Google Chrome Bookmarks
To solve this, close Google Chrome browser and follow the steps below (based on your Operating System):
Windows
Delete or Rename the “Favicons” file located below:
C:\\Users\\your_user_name\\AppData\\Local\\Google\\Chrome\\User Data\\Default
Mac OS X
Delete or Rename the “Favicons” file located below:
/Users/your_user_name/Library/Application Support/Google/Chrome/Default/
After this, just restart Google Chrome and your Favicons should be back again !
No fixes I’ve read on the net worked for me or were to complicated until I re-enabled the Google bookmark extension…then voila! My favicons were back! Try this first. Sometimes your computer does things that you’re not aware of until something goes wrong 🙂
